ARK’s Textured Bite Tube is a chew tool which features a hollow design with a different diameter on each end of the toy. Each end of the toy features a different texture, one side with bumps and one side ribbed for different forms of sensory input.
The tube-like extension and hollow design is perfect for those wanting their chew tool to “collapse” more. As an oral chewing tool, it can be used to develop and enhance biting/chewing skills to build jaw strength and stability to exercise the mouth muscles. The tool can be used for functional biting and chewing by putting puréed foods inside the tube – when the individual bites down, they will be rewarded with a taste of food. The two different diameters allow you to work on varying jaw heights. Because the hollow tube provides less resistance than solid chews like the Textured Baby Grabber, this is a great chew tool for individuals with very limited jaw strength.
The Bite Tube is:
- About 13cm long overall, 1.3cm in diameter on one end, and 1cm in diameter on the other end.
- Hollow all the way through the core.
- Features two textures.
- Available in 3 color-coded toughness levels:
- Standard (Red): The softest level, recommended for mild chewers (those who do not chew through anything) and those with limited jaw strength
- Medium (Lime Green): The middle level, which is firmer, but still fairly chewy, recommended for moderate chewers
- Toughest (Royal Blue): The toughest level. It still has some “chewability” to it, but it’s fairly pretty firm.
