Meet Cheeky, the cheekiest 43cm Cockatoo puppet. Sulphur crested cockatoos live all over Australia, and make their nests in holes in trees. They are some of the loudest birds in the country, with their shrieks heard from quite a distance. They are intelligent birds and can learn to talk with training.
Cheeky has quite a lot to say for himself. He sometimes gets in trouble for being loud, not taking his turn and thinking he has all the answers without listening. He can be used as a tool to engage with others. Conversation between a third party and children can sometimes be less intimidating than discussion between and adult and child. Creating his character and having talks about how he feels and what she likes and doesn’t like and who he likes to play with, and how he sometimes struggles making friends, or can’t sit still etc can make him relatable in the emotional situations children find themselves in.
He is quite realistic to look at and is lovely and soft to touch.
