Why would Special Needs Resources stock a book about farts?
Because it is FUN!! It is an interactive sound book that has different animals making different sounds. Kids LOVE books that are a little bit naughty and talk about taboo subjects. EVERY book is an opportunity to engage with a listener, to talk about everything the book contains. What sort of animal is that? What colour are they? How would you feel if you were accused of farting when you did not? What sound is that? What are the names of the animals and what colour are they?
EVERY book is a chance to develop vocabulary and language. This book has a cause and effect element, with pressing the noise buttons causing a noise to be made on each page. The noise making chip can be turned on and off to conserve the battery.
