Imaginative Play

Special Needs Resources currently carry a range of imagination tools and toys including, dolls, blocks, puppets and other toys needed to inspire imagination in little people. Role play can be an effective way to teach and practice interactions and responses.

What can you build with construction blocks? What are the names of your dolls and what characteristics do they display? Imaginative play has many therapeutic uses, including demonstrating life skills, encouraging descriptive language and expansion of vocabulary, co-operative play, developing visual and spatial skills and encouraging and modelling personal interactions.

Imaginative Play is an important developmental process to develop lifelong tools and skills. Special Needs Resources is constantly expanding our range to incorporate different areas of play.
